I love, love, love making this recipe to start the weekend. There is something so calming about spending Saturday morning preparing a tasty meal that gets the house smelling delicious and cozy. Review the tips listed below to make the best breakfast bagel!

Tips for the Ingredients Used

When choosing your bacon, I highly recommend purchasing grass fed bacon from a local farmer. There is a notable difference in taste when comparing grass fed, local bacon to store bought bacon. If you’re interested in finding a grass fed farmer near you, review this site.

Don’t be fooled by marketing. Read this article to learn the difference between caged, cage-free, free-range, and pasture raised eggs. This will provide a better understanding on why I always recommend pasture raised eggs.

The everything bagel can either make or break this recipe, in my opinion. I encourage going to a local bagel shop to purchase some fresh bagels – you won’t regret this decision!

Bacon Avocado Breakfast Bagel

This Bacon Avocado Breakfast Bagel is one of my favorite go-to recipes! With it's crunchy texture and umami flavor, this breakfast meal can make for the perfect breakfast any day of the week!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1 everything bagel
  • 1 pasture raised egg over easy
  • ghee garlic infused
  • spinach
  • avocado

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400° F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, then place the bacon side-by-side on the tray. Be sure to spread it out, preventing the layering of bacon slices on top of each other.
  • Cook the bacon for 18-20 minutes or until it's reached your desired level of crispiness. Remove the tray from the oven and transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate.
  • While the bacon is still cooking, toast your bagel and fry your egg(s).
  • To assemble, butter your bagel with ghee and begin adding the toppings – bacon, egg, avocado, spinach, and tomato. Enjoy!
