This Sourdough Toast with Jalapeño Butter is one of my top five favorite breakfast meals. Not only is it satisfying, the flavor from the jalapeño butter to the crispy sourdough toast makes this savory breakfast a delicious meal to get you through the morning!
This sourdough toast is a quick and easy breakfast meal with just a few simple steps to complete. To prepare this meal, you’ll first want make the bacon as this takes the longest. Review my blog post on how to cook crispy bacon in the oven – the bacon turns out perfect every time! While the bacon is cooking, prepare the jalapeño butter and spread over a slice of sourdough bread. I throw the bread in an air fry countertop oven for the perfect crispy texture. However, feel free to also toast your bread in the oven while the bacon is cooking. With around 10 minutes left on the bacon, start preparing the over easy eggs, adding salt and black pepper, per preference. Pro tip: keep the eggs extra runny to prevent dryness.
Once the eggs and bacon are done cooking, begin assembling your toast! I find it easiest to add the arugula first, then the bacon, eggs, green onions, and finishing off with drizzling Mike’s Hot Honey on top. That’s all there is to it!
