Hard boiled eggs make the perfect topping to a salad, sides to any meal, or even make for a great grab and go snack. Eggs are packed with protein, healthy fats, and an array of vitamins and minerals. So how do you prepare the perfect hard boiled eggs?

How to Make the Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs

As the first step, simply place the eggs in the pot, completely submerging the eggs with water. Next, allow the water to boil for 12 minutes. This is enough time to cook the eggs, so the yolks turn hard. The next step is very important! Be sure to quickly drain the boiling water, completely immersing the eggs with cold water for about two to three minutes. This will stop the eggs from overcooking. To peel the eggs, tap the bottom of the egg on a hard surface, peeling the egg under running cold water to wash away the shell. That’s all there is to it!

The key to making the perfect hard boiled egg is to make sure you are not overcooking the eggs. If you don’t overcook, the eggs should come out with a perfect, sunshine yellow color, every time.
