Peanut Butter Cookies are a fun homemade treat with the perfect chewy texture. They are packed with flavor but contain less than half the typical amount of sugar for a healthier cookie option.
Looking for organic, unbleached flour is important as it contains less glyphosate than non-organic.
I use grass fed, unsalted butter as it adds a rich flavor and tender texture.
When choosing the peanut butter, opt for organic peanut butter. The creamier the peanut butter, the better! I have also tried chunky peanut butter several times in this recipe – it creates some tasty, crunchy cookies. Using your favorite peanut butter in this recipe is key, as it is the main flavor!
Did you know sea salt contains trace amounts of calcium, iron, potassium, and magnesium? However, remember that salt is salt. Moderation is key!
Now here is the fun part! After combining all the ingredients and mixing well, I prefer to allow my cookies to chill in the fridge overnight. This allows for the chewiest, tastiest cookie! When ready, roll about 1.5 tablespoons of cookie dough into uniform balls. Indent fork marks on top of each cookie to add that traditional look. If the dough is sticking to the fork when making the indents, run the fork under water so the fork doesn’t stick to the dough. Pop them in the oven and wait for them to turn a golden brown.
