Hikes To Do When Visiting Telluride, Colorado

If you’re visiting Telluride, I highly recommend doing at least one hike to enjoy the stunning views of the San Juan Mountains!

Jud Wiebe Memorial Trail – a 3.1-mile loop, moderately challenging trail.

Bridal Veil Falls Trail – a 2.0 out-and-back trail moderately challenging trail that leads to the base of a waterfall!

Bear Creek Trail – a 4.5 out-and-back trail considered moderately challenging.

Bridal Veil Falls to Blue Lake – 5.7-mile out-and-back trail that leads to the beautiful Blue Lake.

Ice Lake Basin – a 8.3-mile out-and-back trail considered a difficult hike with gorgeous views. This hike is also known as one of the best hikes in Colorado to view the wildflowers.

Fun Things to do in Telluride

Walk Main Street, stopping to shop in the variety of stores or to grab a bite to eat. We went to the The Butcher & The Baker, a bakery and café that features handmade baked goods and locally sourced house-roasted meats.

Do an off-roading tour to enjoy the stunning views of alpine lakes, waterfalls, and endless meadows.

Take the gondola on a 13-minute, free ride that goes over the San Sophia Ridge and into the Mountain Village.

Visit Alpino Vino for lunch or dinner with an absolutely stunning view! Be mindful, it’s only open during the winter months.

Hire a Telluride mountain guide for a unique experience of the Telluride Via Ferrata.

Take an hour drive to Ouray for beautiful, scenic views.

Do some paragliding for a fun, adventurous afternoon!

Be sure to be on the lookout for wildlife. Lots of elk were in the meadows as we drove into town. It was a beautiful sight to see!

Drive the rustic Last Dollar Road which offers stunning views of the mountainscape.
