Fruits are naturally low in calories and sodium, but high in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. It’s recommended to consume 2-4 servings of fruit each day to reap the health benefits they have to offer.
Be mindful that fruit does contain natural sugar. However, do not confuse table sugar with the sugar naturally present in fruit or honey. Table sugar is highly processed, while the sugar found in natural sources come in conjunction with fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
