There is honestly nothing more refreshing than some sweet fruit on a hot day! Not only does fruit provide a variety of vitamins and minerals, it’s also a great source of water to help keep you hydrated.

What Fruits Should I Add to this Tropical Fruit Salad?

Tropical fruits are those that grow on trees native to the tropics. With that being said, there are a multitude of tropical fruit combinations you may use to create this salad! Pomegranates (use the seeds), guavas, star fruits, coconuts, dates, and passion fruit are other tropical fruits you may incorporate.

Next time you go to the grocery store, spend time in the produce section. Can you find any tropical fruits you would be interested in trying?

What Are the Health Benefits?

Fruits are naturally low in calories and sodium, but high in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. It’s recommended to consume 2-4 servings of fruit each day to reap the health benefits they have to offer.

Be mindful that fruit does contain natural sugar. However, do not confuse table sugar with the sugar naturally present in fruit or honey. Table sugar is highly processed, while the sugar found in natural sources come in conjunction with fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. If you’re craving something sweet, reach for a piece of fruit, or this Tropical Fruit Salad!
