Klark’s Dog Friendly Birthday Cake is the perfect way to celebrate any pup’s birthday! With peanut butter frosting topped with dog treats, the plate is bound to be licked clean.
We rescued Klark from a local humane society approximately two years ago. He is a German Shepherd, Great Dane mix and the biggest sweetheart and cuddle bug you will ever meet! He loves going for walks, playing fetch, and swimming – he is the best dog we could have ever asked for.
Klark is obsessed with both peanut butter and applesauce, so I decided to make these the focused ingredients within this cake. The peanut butter gives the cake a great taste most dogs enjoy, while the applesauce prevents it from being too dry. The perfect combination!
Adding Greek yogurt to the frosting makes for a fluffier and creamier topping. Add a special design made out of dog treats to top the cake – we added a “3” for Klark’s third birthday!
The recipe makes about four servings, but keep in mind Klark is a larger dog. So for smaller dogs, this cake will make around eight servings.
Klark loves to retrieve his squeaker ball. So if your pup is anything like Klark, what better gift than giving your dog a Chuckit!? This gift will not only keep them strong and healthy, but also use up their endless amount of energy.
The Dog Kong is another great gift that will keep your pups attention. Klark loves his peanut butter, so placing some within the dog kong will keep his attention for nearly half an hour.
