Ingredients

Homemade Hummus

  • 15 ounces garbanzo beans
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 ½ tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

Veggies

  • English cucumber
  • carrots
  • cherry tomatoes
  • watermelon radishes
  • bell peppers

Instructions

  • Place the garbanzo beans in a small pan, covering with an inch or two of cool water. Let simmer until tender, about 30 minutes.
  • Drain and remove loose skin by gently rubbing the garbanzo beans between two towels, or by picking the skin off under warm water. This will make for a creamier texture, also making the hummus easier to digest for sensitive stomachs.
  • Place all the ingredients within a high-powered blender or food processor, adjust water to your preferred creamy texture.
  • Top with a drizzle of oil and a sprinkle of cumin and paprika. Pair with your favorite veggies!
