Vail will always hold such a special place in my heart. It’s the first trip Kraig and I ever took together! We came to this popular destination back in 2018, visiting the iconic Piney River Ranch. Okay, hear me out. If you’re visiting Vail, you need visit at least one of these restaurants. They are spendy, but you won’t regret it!
La Bottega – serving traditional homemade Italian meals, with our food shown in the photo above. Kraig ordered the duck, while I ordered the short ribs. It was absolutely delicious!
Sweet Basil – a Michelin-recommended restaurant serving contemporary American meals.
Splendido at Chateau Beaver Creek – serving locally sourced ingredients on their New American fare menu.
La Tour – a restaurant surrounding the French cuisine.
Makoto – located inside the Grand Hyatt, serving innovative Japanese favorites.
Montauk – a seafood grill serving everything from swordfish to oysters.

Avanti Vail – a food hall offering a variety of different cuisines to enjoy after a day of skiing.
The Little Diner – serving breakfast all day, with hearty lunches served after 11:30 AM.
The Blü Cow – known for their swiss hot dogs.
The Remedy – located in the Four Seasons Resort. We ordered the crispy truffles fries and chocolate chip cookie skillet. Can’t stop thinking about either – 10/10!!
Alpenrose – a cute, European inspired restaurant serving German-Aurstian fare. We ordered the German pretzel with Bavarian cheese. Delicious!
Matsuhisa – serving Japanese cuisine with a Peruvian Flair.
Up the Creek – farm to plate cuisine serving local, sustainable foods.
Bad Kitty Lounge – serving custom cocktails. Kraig and I stopped here for a drink on a date night – reminded us of a college basement party.
Root & Flower – a hidden cocktail and wine bar, serving a variety of snacks to enjoy with your beverage.
The Gambit Bar – serving craft cocktails and small plates.
Moon Rabbit – a speakeasy with cocktails and extravagant bites.
