Top Five Hikes To Do For a Fall Weekend In Vail

Vail is beautiful year-round, with different activities to do during each season. We visited Colorado in late September as we heard this was peak time to see the changing of the seasons – it was a sight to see!

Our time in Vail was packed with hiking and sightseeing. Listed below are our top five hikes we recommend while visiting Vail in the fall.

  1. Booth Falls – moderately challenging route with spectacular views.
  2. Upper Piney River Falls Trail – the drive to this trail is an adventure in itself! If you plan to visit this hike, make sure you’re commuting in a vehicle that can withstand mountain off-roading conditions.
  3. Lake Constantine – an out-and-back trail leading to Lake Constantine.
  4. Shrine Ridge Trail – great hike recommended by many.
  5. Gore Lake – a difficult trail with beautiful views that follow along the Gore Creek.
