Listing out the benefits and steps to setting intentions – a commitment to the journey you want to travel in the new year.
An intention is a powerful purpose in pursuing your desires – something you plan to do or achieve. It is a word or a phrase you can set for a day, a week, a month, or for an entire year. Your intentions will help guide your actions throughout time, to align with your goals. The important difference, however, is that a goal is meant to describe what you want to check off a list, while an intention is how you want to feel.
Setting intentions will help guide your actions on how you show up for the day. You can set one or multiple intentions for a day, a week, a month or a year. Use words or phrases to set your intentions, using them to live in the present moment. By living in the present moment, your mindset will naturally become more positive, helping to break down any barriers you created by overthinking.
What are you passionate about? What makes you feel your sense of purpose? Be mindful of your ideas and write them down, making a list of all your thoughts that come to mind. Then, create a short list of words or phrases that summarize your intentions. To keep both your goals and intentions aligned, write them next to each other where you can review them daily.
