Although the bakery’s cinnamon rolls were delicious, we wanted an alternative with less sugar and cleaner ingredients. Hence, this recipe! Don’t be intimidated by the number of steps, this recipe is quite easy to make.
The number one tip to creating big and fluffy cinnamon rolls is to use organic flour. Organic flour is milled from pesticide-free grain and grown in clean soil. It provides a great texture, while also being a better option than bleached flour.
Choosing 100% grass fed whole milk and unsalted butter provides a rich flavor and soft texture.
Using instant or quick rise yeast makes for a more seamless process as it only requires one rise. Regardless of the yeast you use, be sure to add the yeast to warm milk, allowing it to dissolve for 5-10 minutes for proper activation.
Use room temperature butter and eggs when creating this recipe – they mix better with other ingredients, and room temperature eggs will specifically allow the batter to rise more easily.
