Sweet Chicken Ramen

Ingredients Used in this Sweet Chicken Ramen Bowl

To prepare the most flavorful, juicy chicken, I recommend purchasing pasture raised chicken. Looking for a clean source of hormone and antibiotic free chicken is key for a source of lean protein packed with nutrients and flavor.

To bring out the delectable flavor in this dish, I recommend using this chicken bone broth and these ramen noodles. The ingredient lists on both these brands are great! When looking at the chicken bone broth, be sure to purchase “bone broth”, as this will increase the protein amount by 10 grams per serving.

I recommend using pasture raised eggs versus free-range eggs. If you want to learn more on this topic, review this article here.

Soy sauce can be high in sodium. If you are looking to reduce the sodium in this dish, feel free to swap the soy sauce for coconut aminos. It will have a similar color, consistency and taste when compared to soy sauce.

Ghee is clarified butter. Because of it’s high smoke point, I love using ghee in place of regular butter or oils when cooking and even baking. Be mindful when you are purchasing ghee, to choose the flavor you intend to use. Too often did I use to purchase the garlic ghee when I wanted the original ghee!

Course: Main Course
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 1-2 chicken breasts pasture raised
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 dash black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ghee garlic-infused
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic minced
  • 4 teaspoons coconut aminos
  • 16.9 ounces chicken bone broth
  • 4 teaspoons coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 soft boiled eggs pasture raised
  • 2 packets ramen noodles
  • chives chopped, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400° F. Clean the chicken. Drizzle avocado oil and sprinkle black pepper over the chicken.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165° F.
  • If you want your chicken to have a crispier texture, broil the chicken for a few minutes until you reach your desired texture.
  • Meanwhile, add the ghee and garlic to a medium sized pot on medium-low heat. Heat until fragrant.
  • Combine the coconut aminos, chicken bone broth, coconut sugar, rice vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  • Fill a separate medium sized pot with cold water. Place 4 eggs within the pan, adding more water so the eggs are covered by an inch of water.
  • Turn the heat on high and bring the water to a rolling boil. Keep them at a rolling boil for 6-8 minutes for a soft boiled egg.
  • Immediately dump the hot water out of the pot, running cold water over the eggs to stop the cooking. Let them sit for a while to cool.
  • Once cooled, peel the eggs under some running water.
  • While everything is cooking, begin to boil your ramen noodles. Complete this step according to the ramen package.
  • To assemble the Sweet Chicken Ramen Bowl, add the ramen noodles to a serving bowl.
  • Pour over some broth, add in a serving of chicken, a soft boiled egg, and sprinkle over some chopped chives. Enjoy!
