Ingredients Used to Make these Oven Baked Steak Fries

Only four ingredients are required to prepare these fries. How easy is that?!

  1. Russet potatoes are a versatile root vegetable that contain a good amount of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Have you tried making my mashed potatoes, yet?
  2. Avocado oil has a high smoke point, the temperature at which the oil breaks down and begins to smoke. Having a high smoke point is crucial for this recipe, due to the high cooking temperature.
  3. Sea salt brings out the flavor within these steak fries.
  4. Black pepper is a commonly used spiced that contains an array of antioxidants.

Steps to Prepare these Fries

Follow the steps listed below to prepare these delicious steak fries:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425ºF. Wash the potatoes well. Cut each potato into wedges, approximately 12 wedges per potato. Cut the potatoes by slicing it in half lengthwise, then slice each half into six wedges.
  2. Add the potato wedges into a bowl with warm water and allow them to soak for 30 minutes. This will help breakdown the starch for the perfect, crispy steak fries.
  3. Rinse well. Add in avocado oil, sea salt, and black pepper. Combine well.
  4. Spread the seasoned potato wedges in a single layer over a parchment lined baking sheet. Transfer to the preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes, or until they are well browned and crispy. Flip the steak fries once, halfway through baking.
  5. Serve immediately. Enjoy! Side note: top with chopped chives for added flavor.
