Toasted Mixed Nuts Ingredients

Mixed nut variations – be sure to purchase raw and unsalted mixed nuts.

Pumpkin seeds – raw and unshelled work best within this recipe.

Sea salt – enhances the flavor of the other ingredients used!

Cayenne pepper – adds some subtle spiciness to balance out the sweetness of the sugar and cinnamon.

Ceylon cinnamon – adds a sweet and woody flavor.

Unsalted butter – adds a rich flavor to the mix.

Coconut sugar – adds a strong caramel flavor and a touch of sweetness.

Flavor Variations to Try Out!

Looking for other spiced nut variations? One of my favorite holiday spiced mixed nuts are my Candied Pecans. With only seven ingredients needed to prepare this recipe, it’s one of my favorite, easiest recipes to make during the holiday season.

Other fun flavor variations you can add into the mix include maple syrup, vanilla extract, rosemary, thyme, cumin, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, pumpkin spice, ginger, or even bourbon for some bourbon-spiked mixed nuts. Feel free to play around with the amount you add of each seasoning, adding more or less depending on the spiciness or sweetness you’re aiming for.
