Sharing all the details and updates on our exciting Colorado home renovation! We are less than a few weeks away from moving into our finished home – to say we’re both excited is a completed understatement. 😂

Our Colorado Home Renovation Update

After fixing up two homes and building out our van, we fell in love with the idea of constructing our next home. We always dreamed of going through the process of designing the layout, creating a mood board of our design plan, and selecting fabric schemes, cabinetry, tile, and lighting. We just had no idea it would happen so quickly into our year long honeymoon!

The place we purchased is considered a luxury shed – we’ve spent the past year building it out into a live-work unit, a property that combines residential with a commercial space. We worked with an architect to design our layout, and are currently working with a general contractor to meet all codes. Once our electrical, plumbing, and drywall is finished, Kraig will then install our cabinets, appliances, and flooring. We are planning to complete our kitchen first, so I can get back into the routine of filming and photographing recipes. 😊

Solidifying & Selecting All the Minor Details

Over the past few months, we’ve purchased our appliances, cabinets, flooring, paint, and most of our light fixtures. And let me just say, decision fatigue is a real thing! We wanted to keep things simple and neutral, yet still have character and color to make our home feel cozy. I’ve been living on Pinterest for the past year, searching for inspiration. I truly cannot wait to see everything come together!!!

A few things left on my to-do list: I have yet to select our kitchen pendant lights, cabinet and drawer hardware, and our bathroom light fixture. However, I won’t be selecting these until we get closer towards the completion of our buildout. I want to ensure the different colors and textures flow seamlessly.

A few things I’ve been slowly purchasing are picture frames, a bedroom rug, hangers, and curtains. I’m still looking for bedside tables, and have a plan for Kraig to build us a new bed frame – something simple yet classy. We truly CANNOT WAIT to move in – it will feel like Christmas morning opening all our boxes that have been in storage for the past two years. 🤗

Once our buildout is complete, I’ll be sure to share more photos. Follow me on both Instagram and Pinterest to stay up to date with all our progress!
