Homemade Hummus
- 15 ounces garbanzo beans
- 1 lemon juiced
- ¼ cup water
- 2 ½ tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoons garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
Veggies
- English cucumber
- carrots
- cherry tomatoes
- watermelon radishes
- bell peppers
Place the garbanzo beans in a small pan, covering with an inch or two of cool water. Let simmer until tender, about 30 minutes.
Drain and remove loose skin by gently rubbing the garbanzo beans between two towels, or by picking the skin off under warm water. This will make for a creamier texture, also making the hummus easier to digest for sensitive stomachs.
Place all the ingredients within a high-powered blender or food processor, adjust water to your preferred creamy texture.
Top with a drizzle of oil and a sprinkle of cumin and paprika. Pair with your favorite veggies!
